180th periodical training session

From 28 to 30 of August, we had 180th periodical training session of our microbial agricultural method for member farmers. Participating farmers intensively learned basic theory of the microbial method and knowhow of making and using composts and fermented fertilizers for three days and two nights. Our president, adviser and manager gave lectures about outline and history of microbial agricultural method, theory and technique of soil improvement, know-how of using microbial materials, management of crop cultivation and so on.

We had Mr. Yoshimori Ihara as a guest from Kochi branch of Koso-no-sekaisha and he talked about practices of Shikoku area as an advanced area and best practices of member farmers. BYM farm staffs also can learn a lot from these practices of advanced areas.

We showed know-how of making and using fermented fertilizer and wood chip compost from making to completion with showing real materials to the participating farmers at our farm.

It is difficult to provide verbal instruction about these know-hows, so it is necessary to have participating farmers see the real materials and touch and smell completed materials. Whenever we have training session about our fermented fertilizers and composts, we put much importance on learning from real experience.

It is important to know the condition of appropriate moisture in compost by grabbing and feeling it.We always have the participating farmers know the smell of completed compost and its feeling.

We’d like to thank everyone who joined our training session despite of this busy season for autumn and winter cropping. Next training session will be held in January next year.
We hope to have many participants next time again.
